Improvisation session with the diabolo where movement and sound meet as if sitting at the same table: the body looks for the pulse, the object responds with echoes that bounce and stumble. The delays change direction and force you to fine-tune your listening; when the wave returns, the arm is already preparing the next step so that the thread does not break and the sequence can breathe.
The work focuses on synchronous movements and flippers, which demand precision without suffocating the play. Holding the gesture at the limit so that the weight hangs suspended for an instant, letting it fall and catching it at just the right time. The micro-pauses help recalibrate height and tension, and the changes of course draw a clean braid that stays alive as long as the inner rhythm is not lost.
Bounce
Two beats and again,
the echo, it bounces
I stop and think.
A small pause,
The noise becomes memory,
time opens up.
The waves touch stone,
the diabolo moves on,
the skin says yes.
