Juggling worshop for begginers Simple

Simple A Juggling Workshop Beginers Workshops troposferaxy by Didac Gilabert » troposfera.xyz

»

SIMPLE is named after the single, the club throw that turns once and holds up a good many patterns, and also because the road into juggling is simpler than it looks from outside. This is a workshop for people who have never juggled, made as a short taster that can be stretched as far as needed when we are asked to.

Start at the beginning and end the day with something in your hands

The core of SIMPLE

A workshop for people starting out in juggling

A throw tells you plenty before it comes back to the hand, the height it reached, how long it takes to come down and where you were looking, and at SIMPLE we work on exactly that, which is what makes a pattern come out today and lets you do it again tomorrow.

Every pattern is made of pieces that come apart, and when one gets stuck we break it up, work on the bit that will not come out and put it back together, and those same pieces, reordered or mixed with others, already give patterns nobody had planned for.

We work as a group, in pairs and alone, with the props and the proposals passing from one person to the next, and everyone leaves knowing how to carry on without anyone in front telling them what comes next.

Who should join SIMPLE

Who is this workshop for?

SIMPLE is open to people who have never juggled, to people who have practised a little and to someone who has already put more time into it. It is a workshop that adapts to different levels and keeps the group doing similar exercises.

The patterns and the exercises we do can always be made harder or simpler, so everyone practises patterns from the same family at the same time, each at the level where they feel most comfortable and that helps them learn.

The workshop can be run on its own or inside a project that already has something under way. Tell us what you need and we come, and our proposal fits around what you are doing and slots into what you already have in hand.

Objectives

The main trajectory of the workshop

The base of the throws

Height, rhythm and where you look, which is what turns a pattern into something you can do again whenever you want.

Take apart and put back together

Breaking a pattern into the pieces it is made of, working on what fails and putting it back together, and seeing how many patterns come out of changing the order of those pieces.

Carrying on by yourself

Leaving with material to practise and a way of ordering it, so you can keep going once the workshop is over.

FAQs

Simply, what people ask us

Do you need to have juggled before?

No. The first instructions work as well for someone who has never thrown anything as for someone who already juggles, and the props are handed out according to how each person is getting on.

What age is it from?

It works at any age, though from twelve onwards there is a lot more to get out of it, and for younger ones a workshop like NUCLI is a better fit.
