If you’re a juggler, then you know the thrill of seeking out new and exciting training grounds. And what better place to practice than in the great outdoors? As someone who loves juggling in public spaces, I can attest to the energy and excitement that comes from practicing in the open air.

Of course, there are some challenges that come with training in public spaces. The noise and distractions can be difficult to tune out, and the weather can be unpredictable. And then there are the curious bystanders, whose presence can be both a blessing and a curse.

But don’t let these potential setbacks discourage you. With a good pair of headphones and some determination, you can find a more secluded spot to practice. I’ve found that listening to some specific music has been a game-changer for my practice so I made some playlist of music that enhances my focus.

Despite the challenges, training in public spaces has many benefits. The fresh air, beautiful scenery, and the chance to engage with a diverse community are just a few of the advantages. Not only can you showcase your juggling skills to a new audience, but you may also inspire others to take up the craft themselves.

Now, I’m not discounting the benefits of indoor training spaces. Studios and specialized facilities have their own advantages, with a controlled environment that’s ideal for practicing certain techniques. But as someone who loves improvisation and spontaneity, I find that public spaces offer a level of unpredictability that can’t be found indoors.

And my experiences juggling in public spaces have inspired me to seek out alternative performance opportunities. Instead of relying solely on conventional stages like theaters, I now look for chances to improvise in site-specific contexts. It’s a way to truly feel alive while doing what I love.

In the end, training in public spaces may not be for everyone. But for those who are willing to step outside their comfort zones, it can be an incredibly rewarding experience. So why not take your juggling skills to the great outdoors and see where it takes you? You never know – you might just gain some new friends along the way.
